Come Grill With Me’s Red Wine Marinade
Hands up if you love wine? Here is Australian Beef with my Yering Station Shiraz Viognier Red Wine Marinade. This marinade works for beef, lamb or venison; for my recipe, I have used beef.
This beef weighs 1.3 kg (2.8 pounds). Cooked over charcoal BBQ.
For my marinade recipe, I use Yering Station 2015 Shiraz Viognier – but you can use any of your favourite Yering red wines.
To serve, I also highly recommend the Yering Station 2015 Shiraz Viognier to drink.
- 2 Cups Shiraz Red Wine
- 1/2 Cup of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 (generous) Tablespoon of Seeded Mustard (you can use Dijon if you prefer)
- 1 Teaspoon Dried Oregano
- 1 Teaspoon Dried Thyme
- 2 Garlic Cloves Crushed
- 1/2 Teaspoon Pink Salt
- 1/2 Teaspoon Cracked Pepper
~ Whisk all ingredients together ~ Place meat in a ziplock bag or airtight container ~ Marinate for at least 4 hours or 24 hours if you have time (for steak or smaller cuts, I marinate for at least 20 mins and up to 4 hours, time permitting). Cook as you normally would.
Any leftover marinade can be used as a zesty reduction in a pan, to be used as a sauce. Just add a tablespoon of brown sugar and simmer for at least 10 mins, stirring lots!
