NATHAN PENHALL

ETHEREAL EARTH

MAIN GALLERY
4 MAY — 1 JUNE
This photographic journey into the pink salt lakes of Victoria’s Mallee region (Australia) unveils the hidden beauty of an enigmatic landscape, captured from a bird’s-eye perspective. The images, shaped by the play of light, salt, and water, reveal a tapestry of fluid geometries, delicate hues, and organic patterns.
Each photograph celebrates nature’s own sense of composition and design, while the aerial viewpoint strips the earth’s natural formations of their human context, thereby presenting landscape in a purer form within which the viewer nonetheless apprehends fractal-like shapes, winding veins, and ephemeral textures that seem to pulse with life.
In essence, Ethereal Earth explores the intersection of landscape and human perception, offering a perspective that challenges the conventional. It asks viewers to look beyond the surface, to find beauty in the unexpected, and to revel in the quiet power of nature’s abstract masterpieces.
