2024 RESERVE CHARDONNAY

TASTING NOTE | On the palate you’ll experience finely drawn notes of citrus pith and white nectarine. A subtle tannin line brings shape through the mid-palate, framing the just-ripe fruit, waxy complexity and bright acidity. Focused and textural, it carries through to a long, refined finish.

WINEMAKING | Hand-harvested from three hallmark Yarra Valley sites. Matured in French oak for 10 months, with an additional 6 months in stainless steel on fine lees. As in previous years, malolactic fermentation was avoided to retain crisp acidity.

VINEYARDS | Sourced from Block Y28 of the Yering Vineyard and the Spring Lane and Copperhead Vineyards in Coldstream.

97 POINTS | PHILIP RICH, HALLIDAY WINE COMPANION

“…This has aromas of ripe stone fruits, cashew and oyster shell that precede the intense, well-structured and balanced palate. Finishes saline and long. Will only get better over the next six to eight years at least.”

2024 RESERVE PINOT NOIR

TASTING NOTE | The finely structured palate balances restraint with generosity. Layers of red fruit, earthy complexity, whole bunch spice and subtle oak unfold seamlessly across the palate. Delicate yet detailed, it carries a fine line of tension through to a poised and lingering finish.

WINEMAKING | Fruit was gravity-fed into small open fermenters, with gentle plunging and pump-overs. Maturation took place in 500L French oak puncheons (12% new oak) over 10 months. The best barrels were then carefully selected for the final blend.

VINEYARDS | Sourced from Blocks Y07 & Y13 of the Yering Vineyard, the Laura Barnes Vineyard in Yarra Glen and the Hanrahan Vineyard in Gruyere.

96 POINTS | PHILIP RICH, HALLIDAY WINE COMPANION

“It’s medium bodied and generous on the palate…”

2024 RESERVE SHIRAZ VIOGNIER

TASTING NOTE | The palate is rich and velvety, layered with dark berry fruit and fragrant spice. Concentrated yet composed, it moves with energy and finesse, the Viognier lending floral lift and brightness. Seamless and expressive, it flows through to a long, savoury finish.

WINEMAKING | The fruit was co-fermented with 3% Viognier, picked to order from our Yering vineyard. This lends a plush, velvet coating to the structural tannins, and helping to highlight the delicate floral and dark spice aromatic profile. The ferments were gently handled and spent 17 months in French oak barriques, 14% new oak.

VINEYARDS | Predominantly sourced from the Carr Vineyard in Coldstream, co-fermented with select Viognier fruit from our Yering Vineyard. This wine is certified by Sustainable Winegrowing Australia.

97 POINTS | PHILIP RICH, HALLIDAY WINE COMPANION

“A deep purple. Aromas of dark cherry, cocoa nibs and violets coalesce in this dense yet perfumed wine. Plush, velvet-textured and seductive, this is a delight to drink now but will also reward another eight to 10 years in the cellar.”

2024 RESERVE CABERNET SAUVIGNON

TASTING NOTE | Red and dark fruits intertwine with fine tannins, bright acidity and layers of sweet and savoury spice. The palate is focused and intense, gradually unfolding to reveal brambly fruit and subtle herbal complexity, finishing with elegance, concentration and remarkable length.

WINEMAKING | Classically medium-bodied and built to last. Gentle handling and extended time on skins build structure and concentration while preserving a graceful elegance. The wine was matured in French oak barriques for 18 months, 20% new oak.

VINEYARDS | Predominantly sourced from Block S13 of the Spring Lane Vineyard in Coldstream, certified by Sustainable Winegrowing Australia.

96+ POINTS | PHILIP RICH, HALLIDAY WINE COMPANION

“With its bouquet of blackcurrant, cherry skins, cedar… there’s a dark intensity to the fruit. Really good depth on the nicely structured palate… Drink this now and cellar with confidence for at least a decade.”

THE 2024 SEASON

The challenges of spring, chiefly high rainfall and humidity, gave way to consistently warm temperatures as the season turned. The shift was decisive, keeping us attentive in the vineyard early
on before the vines settled into a far steadier rhythm. These conditions saw an earlier-than-expected start to the season, with table Chardonnay commencing on the 9th of February, followed by a very compressed vintage. Parcels reached optimal ripeness in close succession, and picking decisions came thick and fast, keeping the cellar moving at pace through the harvest period with almost everything picked by the 19th of March. Quite a contrast  to 2023.

The outcome is a set of balanced, elegant wines with concentrated flavours—the hallmark of a warm, condensed season captured at just the right moment.
