2024 Yering Station Cabernet Sauvignon

The proud definition of our house style. These wines are produced from vineyards that are carefully managed by Yering Station’s team to ensure they reflect, and continue to reflect, Yarra Valley’s hallmark characters.
Intense fresh fruits from the get go, building in complexity and layering earthen, autumnal spice, hints of leather and sweet pipe tobacco. The tannin profile is tight and precise, giving a great focal point for the palate, which drives along with bright acidity through the long finish where the red currant and cranberry fruits return.

Tasting Notes
Deep, inky, ruby red. |
|
A fragrant nose of red and black currants, black berries and anise spice. |
|
Plush and juicy but also structured and refined. An autumnal perfume envelopes beautifully ripe red and black berries, currants and yellow plums. An elegant tannin profile carries the fruits across the long palate, supported by subtle cedar spice from the oak. |

A blend of 98/2% cabernet sauvignon/malbec. All Coldstream material. A bright ruby garnet. There's a gentle, appealing leafiness on the bouquet, together with some red cherry, redcurrant and mocha. Medium bodied with gentle tannins, this is one of those Yarra cabernets that is just so highly food-friendly and digestible. Drink now and over the next three to four years.
