Introducing Yering Station’s, Eleonore
To celebrate the upcoming The House of Dior: Seventy Years of Haute Couture exhibition, Yering Station has collaborated with local artist, Sarah Darby to create a limited edition wine collection, named ‘Eleonore’. Exclusive to Melbourne, The House of Dior exhibition is a sumptuous display of more than 140 garments designed by Christian Dior Couture between 1947 and 2017.
The Eleonore collection was inspired by Eleonore De Castella, Yering Station’s most glamorous socialite hostess whose love of all things fashion and glamour influenced this limited edition wine collection. Eleonore loved to entertain in a grand manner at the original homestead, Chateau Yering which is now home to the highly acclaimed Eleonore’s Restaurant.
Yering Station commissioned Sarah Darby, a local Melbourne Fashion illustrator with years of experience in ateliers in Paris and one of Harper Bazaar’s 12 Australian Fashion Illustrators to follow.
My illustrations are accessible, not high brow. Something that reflects my belief that fashion is for everyone – Sarah Darby.
Inspiration for Eleonore
For each label I was imagining the most beautiful party that you have ever been to. I’m looking out from the balcony of a Chateau into the night sky. Each of the illustrations is the moment when you have opened the doors and feel like you have just stepped into another world. You have partly interrupted the moment but its frozen in your mind as you’re drinking it all in.– Sarah Darby.
