Yering Station’s head Chef Maxime Croiset has worked in some of France and Londons’s finest Michelin star restaurant before joining Yering Station in 2015. Maxime is inspired by his French heritage and showcases French food with a local, contemporary emphasis.
Guy Grossi is a devoted chef and restaurateur. He is the owner of Grossi restaurants including Grossi Florentono (upstairs, the Grill and Cellar Bar, Merchant Osteria Veneta and Ombra Salumi Bar. He is recognized as the one of the country’s lading authorities in Italian food.
The event will feature five courses plus canapés, with matching Yering Station wines, poured mostly from magnums with a predominately Shiraz focus. Yering Station’s winemaker Brendan Hawker and Viticulturist Andy Clarke will also be at the luxurious lunch to talk about the wines.
The culinary collaboration will see Yering Station’s head chef Maxime Croiset work closely with Grossi to present a one-of-a-kind menu.
Guy Grossi said: “I’m really looking forward to this event. It’s a beautiful winery in an area surrounded by amazing fresh produce. We’re so lucky to have access to this calibre of food and wine and putting it all together for this charity is very special.”
The Rathbone family brought Yering Station in 1996 after being drawn to its natural beauty, history and the quality of its wines. Today Yering Station is one of the jewels of the Yarra Valley region, recognised for its landmark winery and restaurant complex. The stunning architecture and impressive grounds set the scene for an incredible lunch in the Yarra Valley.
The Rathbone family are the original founders of the Children’s Cancer Foundation, therefore the organisation is close to their hearts. The charity has supported children with cancer since 1992, striving for better and less harmful treatments. An experiential prize will be auctioned on the day to further raise money for the charity.
