The proud definition of our house style. These wines are produced from vineyards that are carefully managed by Yering Station’s team to ensure they reflect, and continue to reflect, Yarra Valley’s hallmark characters.

Opening with a very aromatic nose showing an array of dark cherry fruit, pomegranate, sweet spices and an earthen perfume. Enjoy chalky tannin that brings a wonderful definition to this medium bodied, cool climate grenache. The finish is long and fragrant, with great presence of fruit and structure to its finish.

Tasting Notes

Bright garnet with ruby hues.
Beautiful perfume of rose petals and baking spices.
Lithe and energetic. Bright sour plums and raspberries fill the mouth, with a tacky, crunchy tannin building in the structure. The palate remains fruitful throughout and builds a lovely complexity of cherry stone and graphite on the finish.

Early spring rainfall provided good water reserves, supporting healthy vine growth, while the latter part of the season was relatively dry, reducing disease pressure. Harvest conditions were near-perfect, with cool nights and sunny days helping to preserve acidity and enhance aromatics.

Satsuma plums, wild raspberry leaf and Hollyhock. Some raspberry cordial and a twinge of tree sap. 100% whole bunch in open fermenters, gentle pump overs and the occasional hand plunge. Matured for 15 months in seasoned oak. The portion of carbonic maceration brings in a boisterous to the fruit backed by sandy tannins and plenty of plunging acidity. Still knitting together this is taut and terrific in its presence and untamed wild red berries. This feels confident and assured in its skin. Drink now or cellar for another 2-4 years further. Quite a drastic style from 2022 but equally compelling and a touch slinkier. Serve with slurped udon noodles and slivers of pork.
