An Introduction to Yering Station
With vines first planted in 1838, Yering Station is proudly Victoria’s first vineyard. Located in the Yarra Valley in Victoria, Australia – Yering Station has a long history of producing world-class cool climate wines.
Established in 1838 by the Ryrie brothers, Yering Station was originally a small vineyard and cattle farm. Changing hands between families throughout the centuries that followed, the Rathbone family ultimately purchased the estate in 1996 and have since expanded it into a landmark producer and destination.
Since the beginning, our ambition has always been to simply make great wine. We believe that each great wine should express their individual epitome of time, place and effort. In the vineyards, we employ the use of cutting-edge precision viticulture techniques, while balancing the entire process by the human sense of taste. In the winery, we manage a careful balance of tradition and innovation; employing age-old techniques supported by modern advances, all of which culminate to highlight our distinctive cool climate hallmarks.
Sustainably minded, our dedication to our land is unerring. Our sustainability commitments include a 100% solar powered winery, drip irrigation in our vineyards and cultivating cover crops in our mid-rows.
Paddock Rise Collection
Our collection of Paddock Rise wines honours our estate’s agricultural origins–originally operating as a dairy farm in the mid-1800s. A land shaped by time, what was once the domain of grazing cattle is now home to flourishing vines. The same rich soils that once sustained livestock are now the nurturing ground for the various grape varieties planted across our estate. As the sun passes over these historic paddocks, it casts light over a landscape forever-rooted in heritage.

We acknowledge that we gather on the unceded lands of the Woi Wurrung people here on beautiful Wurundjeri country, where the mighty Birrarung flows and the Ngurraks sing. We pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging as we today place footsteps upon footsteps of those made by thousands of generations of Aboriginal people who have come before us. We also pay respect to the non-indigenous brothers and sisters who gather here today, as we are all on the journey of reconciliation. We must acknowledge the past and work together in the present, so that we can move forward as a united nation.
