Shaped by precision viticulture and sustainabile farming.

Across Yarra Glen and Coldstream in the Yarra Valley, Australia’s premier cool climate wine region, lie our five vineyard sites.
Carefully nurtured through precision viticulture, sustainable practices and our expert team, each site plays a distinct role in shaping our wines. As certified members of Sustainable Winegrowing Australia, we combine innovative technology with patient hands in the vineyard to ensure exceptional fruit from vine to bottle.

Situated just 45 kilometres east of Melbourne’s CBD, the Yarra Valley is one of Australia’s most diverse cool climate wine regions. Its landscape shifts dramatically in elevation, from around 50 metres to peaks of 1,250 metres, shaped by the Great Dividing Range and a wide range of soil profiles. Marked by significant winter and spring rainfall and cool, dry summers, the region provides ideal conditions for producing wines of purity, balance and detail.

Today, our family of vines spans five vineyard sites across Yarra Glen and Coldstream, including our namesake Yering Station site as well as Laura Barnes, Carr, Muirs and Spring Lane. Across these sites, 12 grape varieties are grown including Yarra Valley classics such as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir to alternative varieties such as Nebbiolo. Each vineyard presents subtle differences in soil, aspect and elevation, allowing us to harness unique terroir character.

We carefully manage our family of vines using a combination of techniques. While precision viticulture informs key decisions in the vineyard and in the winery, it is ultimately an immaculate balance of science, instinct and taste that guides our work from vine to bottle.

Ongoing investment in precision viticulture allows us to map and understand our vineyards at a remarkably detailed level, identifying exceptional parcels down to individual rows. This deep knowledge of our land reveals microvariations that translate into distinct, expressive wines. Our flagship wine, Scarlett, is a true expression of this philosophy, originally pioneered by the late Nathan Scarlett.

This intimate understanding of our land is upheld by an exceptional viticulture team led by Chief Viticulturist, Rod Harrison. Working with dedication and precision, they care for our vineyards year-round, ensuring each site is tended to with the highest level of attention and respect.
