Description

2015 was an exceptional year. A classic Yarra Valley growing season: a wet spring followed by moderate daily temperatures and cool nights. Perfectly balanced vines allowed the grapes to ripen in optimal conditions. In these reserve years, the pristine fruit flavours combined with intensity and power give the wine balance and longevity. Black and red currant fruit provide the richness and power. The cedar spice and fine tannin structure compliment the mid palate, giving it elegance and grace. This wine will continue age gracefully, retaining much of its youthful character.

This wine comes with a limited edition Yering Station gift box.

This is a wine that has been built for the future. Highly concentrated dark berry fruits enhanced by subtle quality oak. Deeply-coloured with a density that will allow it to cellar for many years. Plush fruit with warmth on the palate and gentle background savouriness. Chewy, layered tannins. Needs patience and time 09 AUG 2017 2017–2035

Compelling and convincing, with florals, currants and blackberries, not too sweet; it has a savoury edge, with the oak seamlessly integrated. Perfectly ripe tannins with poise and presence ensure that this is lovely now, but will be more so in years to come.

Ranked #3 of 22 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon from Victoria 2015 is a top vintage for Yarra cabernet, the colour a saturated purple/red and the wine concentrated and powerful, with pinpoint ripeness and masses of good, ripe tannins. Dense, high-extract and packed with flavour, it’s great now with hearty food but will richly reward cellaring. (Screwcap)
