Blend of 59/23/18% grenache/mourvèdre/shiraz. Fermented in small, open fermenters, pressed to tank and then racked to seasoned French oak barrels. Bright crimson red. An attractive combination of red fruits, a little spice and some earthier, I imagine mourvèdre-derived notes. There's a little fresh tobacco and dried herbs here too. Medium bodied and gently juicy in the mouth, fine, persistent tannins round out a wine to enjoy now and over the next 4-5 years.

The inaugural release of a Mediterranean blend from a putative cooler climate. Things are changing! This is delicious, reminiscent of an easy drinking red from the Languedoc. Not easy, as in banal, but as in poised, crunchy, mid-weighted and herbal, with moreish tannins to curtail any fruit sweetness. Red-fruited and scrubby, with strewn lavender, thyme and a note of Australiana, strongly reminiscent of the garrigue. A skein of peppery freshness. I'd chill this and guzzle. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
