This Yarra Valley Pinot takes you into a heady new zone with its combination of ethereal beauty and immense power. It is the first release of this wine since 2017 and comes off a particular piece of dirt identified some years ago. Aromas of sour cherry and light cracked seashell minerality with a subtle savoury edge. Itâs a combination of whole bunch and destemmed fruit which comes together after barrel selection to about 3% whole bunch and 29% new oak. The palate has a firm but super fine structure that delivers to a long, focussed finish. Thereâs a vibrancy and luminosity here unlike almost any other Aussie Pinot Noir. If youâre serious about you Pinots then this small volume beauty should be on your bucket list.

All clone MV6 from the 25-year-old block Y07; 3% whole bunches and matured in 29% new French barriques and puncheons. A light, bright crimson purple. Lifted and perfumed with its aromas of small red fruits, rose petals and aromatic herbs and a touch of sandalwood. More subtle and sophisticated than the Reserve Pinot 2021, this alluring and elegant wine has both delicacy and depth. The tannins are superfine and persistent, and the finish is long and ethereal. While both the label and price are a nod to burgundy, so too is the style.
