2019 halliday wine companion

We are excited to present the 2019 Halliday Wine Companion results for Yering Station and Yarrabank. Yering Station was awarded a Top 5 Red Star* Winery Rating and Yarrabank was awarded a 4.5 Red Star** Winery Rating, along with amazing scores.

97 POINTS 2015 YERING STATION SCARLETT PINOT NOIR | Buy Here
A wine that achieves more by doing less. Its light colour is deceptive, for it has rare intensity and power. Its bouquet has violets and rose petals (a rare double) and exotic spices, and the very long palate has immaculate tannins sewn through the predominantly red fruits.  Honours Nathan Scarlett (‘75-’13) who developed the precision viticulture at Yering Station that pinpointed the tiny patch of exceptional vines that give rise to this great pinot.97 POINTS 2015 YERING STATION RESERVE SHIRAZ VIOGNIER | Buy Here
The powerful, resplendent black cherry and plum fruits have touches of pepper and spice as well as that of the near-unseen viognier. French oak and tannins are in their due place.

95 POINTS 2016 YERING STATION CHARDONNAY  | Coming Soon Buy 2015 Here
Straw-yellow. In the zone for flavour, texture and length. Peach, pear, grapefruit and spice notes generate excellent power but it’s the mouthfeel and overall class that really seal the deal. It’s complex at every turn but inviting and accessible too. A top example of modern Australian chardonnay.

95 POINTS 2015 YERING STATION SHIRAZ VIOGNIER  | Sold Out Buy 2016 Here
On its own, the colour might seem good, and it is, but nowhere near the hue of the Reserve. The black fruits of the bouquet have notes of liquorice, pepper and spice, and swing into full power mode on the long palate. Likewise, there is a palisade of tannins to keep any attack on the fruit at bay – they are a natural antioxidant.

95 POINTS 2012 YARRABANK CUVÉE | Buy Here
Yellow-straw; complex wine, nashi pear and biscuit on the bouquet leads into a rich palate with peach and nectarine fruit; creamy mouthfeel.

94 POINTS 2016 YERING STATION PINOT NOIR | Buy Here
Get a smell of this. This draws you straight in, the nose so exquisitely turned out, the palate following straight on, the finish letting no one down. Undergrowth, spice notes, cherries, plums, folds of satin, wafts of wood smoke. Oak certainly contributes here but the fruit has its back. One highly seductive pinot noir.

94 POINTS 2015 YERING STATION VILLAGE SHIRAZ VIOGNIER | Coming soon
In fine form, both balance and fruit intensity key markers of its quality. Black cherry and liquorice flavours come stitched with cloves and spice. Toasty oak plays a role but a minor one. Spice-shot tannin spreads its wings through the back half of the wine. Good from every angle.

94 POINTS 2017 YERING STATION VILLAGE ROSE | Sold Out
So juicy. So moreish. Red cherry and pomegranate flavours come flecked with anise. It’s a pale crimson-salmon colour and it’ s bursting with life. It’s just a cracking rose, basically, and begs to be consumed with (responsible) gusto.

94 POINTS 2007 YARRABANK LATE DISGORGED | Buy Here
An unbelievably complex wine, demonstrated by zero dosage when bottled. Length, elegance and a complex matrix of berry fruits, aromas and flavours.

91 POINTS 2017 YERING STATION VILLAGE MARSANNE VIOGNIER | Cellar Door Only
