This wine comes with a limited edition Yering Station gift box.

Our Premium Reserve wines are carefully crafted using only the best grapes during the best vintages.
Brendan Hawker, Winemaker at Yering Station.
"In September the annual ‘allocation tasting’ takes place, where all batches are tasted blind and given a classification. At the end of September, the wines begun to show their unique personalities and we can begin to imagine what the final blends will look like and consist of. Our reserve Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz Viognier wines all show a power and elegance in their fruit profiles and structure."

All mendoza clone; both wild and cultured yeast; 100% barrel fermented; matured exclusively in 500 litre barrels. Yes. It nails it. It tips briefly into plush territory but is essentially lean, long and complex. Best of many worlds. Steel, grapefruit, some funk, some woodsmoke, some toast, and a run of succulent white peach. In short, it tastes beautiful.

Hand-picked, whole bunch-pressed, fermented in French oak puncheons (30% new) with a mix of wild and cultured yeast, 5 months lees stirring, matured for 10 months. Still pale straw-green; the bouquet is reductive, but the palate has an explosive powerhouse of grapefruit, flinty acidity and quality French oak. This was a great vintage for Yarra Valley chardonnay, and the wine has a great future.
