2006 Yering Station Reserve Shiraz Viognier

Very persistent, harmonious and silky, this long, satiny and fine-grained blend marries delicious sour-edged dark plum and berry fruit with tight-knit chocolate/cedar/vanilla oak and a handsome structure of long, smooth tannin. Its smoky, briary and heady bouquet of brambly fruit conceals its presence of Viognier, while the palate enveloped deep, dense flavours with singular harmony. It finishes long, savoury and sour-edged, with a persistent meatiness.
